Ingar has released his first preview of his Tremulous map "Procyon". Screenshots at his website look very promising, although it is still work in progress.
Gameplay is currently being tested on our Derelict server, the map is already in cycle!

This map has very large corridors, this is pro human, but there is many hidden places.
Actually, I used this map alone, without opponent.
Thanks. | | | | by Salad_Dodger | It's a very large map, and so it needs a lot of players to avoid being just a nice day out touring without seeing anyone else. I thought I saw Ingar mention that it was intended for SST... so that shouldn't be a problem.
Lots of open space and long corridors probably favours humans. I found one nasty tyrant trap on the spiral staircase. I ran into two humans on the way up and slipped down the side of the step and was trapped between the step and the wall. I couldn't move and had to sit there while I was killed by a human with a blaster. Bah!
Nice smooth walls to help crawlers and it seemed to perform well. Minor nits aside, I thought it had promise... although we weren't actually playing seriously and it'd be interesting to see it destruction tested with 30+ players. | | | | by seFFYLIGht | I'm a fan of large maps, myself -- both with or without a large player group. There's nothing I love more than playing in a tight group of humans, working as a team to stalk the halls of the map so as to not face death at the hands of a waiting dretch/basi/goon. That's what Tremulous gameplay seems like it should be to me.
That said, Procyon is shaping up to replace Pulse as my favorite map. Iron out the bugs and it'll be perfect. | | |
