Why, Hello seFFYLIGht, how is your evening going?
Good, so far. Thanks for taking the time to set down with me to talk tonight.
Mind if I ask a few questions?
Yes, I do
but go ahead
Ha ha. Well, as we all know, you're the creator of TremLeague -- the first organized Tremulous tournament/ladder system. What motivated you to start a Tremulous tournament site?
Well, after playing tremulous for about a month i started to wonder what was going on with the clan scene. To my dismay i found out that it was pretty blah. Already having a whole league site setup at arena-zone.com, i decided to make an attempt to get a clan league started.
As good a reason as any, certainly. I'm sure many are glad that someone stepped up to the task.
As far as i know, yes. Sadly when the league first started off it wasn't too active, i started it at a bad time for myself, i believe.
It's understandable, things happen. You've come back with a new force this time, though, and seem far more organized and motivated. Next question:
So, your host for the TremLeague site is
http://arena-zone.com. Do you know the owners of the Arena Zone site (it sounded like you run the original site from the way you spoke of it earlier), and are you getting this hosting for free or are you paying for it?
Yes, i am good friends with the owner of the site, me and him started the site for a socom ladder site, getting sick of all the cheating going on at other site. I was the coder for the site and he made the decisions. As for payment, He pays for the hosting monthly.
Hopefully, i will have a domain for tremleague soon.
Your first tournament, currently upcoming in early November, is a 4 vs. 4 tournament. How many players and teams do you have signed up so far for it?
Well, the site has 52 players already, as for players signed up for the tournament...i have no idea. There are 3 teams signed up and 12 registered on the site. From those iv spoken too they tell me they are just attempting to get their teams together. To me, thats a sign of success.
Well, here's hoping that they manage to pull themselves together in time for the tournament. I'd hate to see the tournament get pushed back because the players are too "leet" to team up with each other.
Tell me, what are your future plans for TremLeague? Any insight on what we can expect?
As in, after the first tournament is over and done with.
Well, by then i should have money, so more tournament with better prizes are to come, and hopefully clans can start to match vs each other regularly.
Thus, the clan ladders should fire up and become active
Definitely, definitely. I'm certainly hoping so.
Any last words?
I would like to remind everyone that we still need more teams for the tournament, and ask for them to get all their players registered.
Heh. Let's hope our tremulous.info readers take that statement to heart, no?
Well, thank you very much for your time, Smokey.
No problem, Seffy. I hope so also.
Good night =]
